Dorothy Marie Skaff died peacefully on December 14, 2017, at Fulton Manor. She was born in Toledo, Ohio, on December 19, 1921, to parents Thomas and Tukla Skaff. After her siblings Lester, Sadie, George, and Theodore died, she moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan, to be with her only surviving sibling at that time, Josephine Gladys Skaff Ellis (wife of Edward Ellis Jr.) and her nieces. (Josephine died in 2015.)

Dorothy was a devoted aunt, daughter, sister, and friend. In Toledo, she lived with and cared for her parents Thomas and Tukla Skaff until they died. Dorothy retired many years ago after 40 years of devoted service at Libbey Glass in Toledo.

Dorothy was well loved by her nieces and nephews, and well cared for specifically by her niece Marcia A. Ellis.

Dorothy was a devoted and life-long member of St. George Cathedral in Toledo, Ohio, and then St. George Antiochian Christian Orthodox Church in Grand Rapids.

Dorothy’s gentle soul and quiet nature endeared her to many—particularly those nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who called her “aunt.”
