Genevieve “Jean” Maczuga died on December 14, 2017. Born in Newark, NJ in 1920, she was raised in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Jean lived most of her adult life in New Jersey. Her husband, John Maczuga died in 1970. She is survived by her children: Diane (Lonny) Shirk of Kutztown, PA; John (Gail) Maczuga of Brick, NJ; Karen Maczuga (Frank Kwiatek) of Grand Rapids, MI; David Maczuga (Terry) of Bellingham, WA; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Jean worked at many jobs throughout her long life. During World War II she worked on a weapon assembly line. For many years she was a seamstress at the Playboy Club in Vernon, NJ making “Bunny” costumes. She worked at various retail establishments (in stiletto heels) until the age of 76. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A memorial service will be held in New Jersey at a later date.
