Karen Clark Obituary

Karen Sue (Byram) Clark – Cascade MI, went peacefully into the arms of her loving Jesus February 08, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred D. Byram and Clara D. Byram and granddaughter Courtney Elizabeth Clark. She is survived by her loving family, Kathy Clark LeBaron (Richard LeBaron, children Genevieve LeBaron, Alexis LeBaron Bignall (Matthew Bignall). Michael Clark (son Justin, wife Anna, great grandson Liam) (great grandson Colin Edmundson). Monty Clark (Teri Tamblin Clark, children Kaleigh Clark, Kelsie Clark Oatmen (Cpt. Bradley Oatmen USAF).

Karen moved to Grand Rapids, MI in 1965 to the Ottawa Hills area. She had long and prosperous career retiring after 25 years at Foremost Insurance Company where she held many positions over the years.

Karen was a room mother at Ottawa Hills Elementary, PTA member Ottawa Hills Elementary and Junior High. She was a car pool mother for Rocket Football and Baseball at Franklin Park and Mulick Park for her sons sports teams. An avid supporter for all of her children’s sporting teams Karen was known to yell very loud in support for her three kid’s teams and school group events.

Karen was a longtime East Congregational Church member since 1967, various committees and women’s guilds. She was an inspiration for her children’s faith.

Karen’s passion later life was in the arts. She was an avid collector and enjoyed traveling where ever she could think of to see different art galleries and artists and shows. She also enjoyed Shakespearian plays and classical music.  She also made a lot of time to take her grandchildren too many of these events and special trips to Meijer Gardens every year.

Karen will be missed by all who knew her. Friday, March 16th from 3-7pm visitation will be held at Memorial Alternatives, 2432 Fuller AVE NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505. Funeral will be held March 17th at 1pm at East Congregational Church, 1005 Giddings AVE SE Grand Rapids, MI 49506.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to East Congregational Outreach/food bank, 1800 Giddings AVE SE Grand Rapids MI.
