Richard Lloyd Sidor

Mr Richard L. Sidor, age 89 of Grand Rapids passed away March 26, 2018. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Marilyn in 2001, brothers William, Jack and David. He is survived by son , Timothy ( Vicki) Sidor; five grandchildren , Nichole Sidor, Danielle Sidor, Jamie (Melissa) Rykse, Jason ( Brittney) Rykse, Jared (Ashley) Rykse; three great -grandchildren, Braden Rykse, Sofia Rykse , Madalyn Rykse, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Richard served in the Korean War, was a life member of the Casino Club and American Legion Boat and Canoe Club and The Breakfast Club of Creston High School Class of '47. He retired from Michigan Wheel Corp. after 35 years as the outboard racing propellers polisher and finisher. Richard was known for his many spaghetti dinners where he enjoyed serving friends and family at his home for boat racers where he and his wife Marilyn and son Tim and Vicki enjoyed for many years which was his way of enjoying the friendships of the racing family. Some of Richards favorite times of racing with his wife and son were enjoying the comradery and fun with the “Wild Ones“ and all the great times they shared.

 As a member of the Casino Club he enjoyed serving on the board and being involved in social activities throughout the club playing cards and bowling, fishing with the guys in Rice Lake and going on trips that he and his wife shared fun times with friends.

One of his photography adventures was taking pictures of the historical North Park Bridge most every day as they dismantled the old bridge and constructed the new bridge as he watched the progress and shared his friendship with the crew as they worked to build the bridge.

A Celebration on Life will take place at the Casino Club of Grand Rapids on April 21, 2018 at 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
