Daniel Edward Wozniak

On January 2, 1936 Daniel Edward Wozniak was born to Stephanie Maksymowski and Edward Wozniak. He was born and raised in Grand Rapids with his three siblings Richard, Mary Ann (Walker), and Ronald.

He graduated from Creston High School in 1954. He met and married Joyce Truesdell in 1955. They had three children Micheal Fisher (deceased), Cathy (Clover), and Mary Wozniak. They settled in and raised their family in Sparta.

Dan worked his whole career using his hands to make things. The bulk of his working years were spent working at Redco Manufacturing. He finished his days out working at American Heritage Clock Company making and finishing clocks.

One of the things that he built, that was his pride and joy, was a log cabin on Mench Lake in Baldwin. He and Joyce, with the help of family and friends, built it from the ground up. They bought a load of logs and went to work. They lived there and enjoyed it for many years until they sold it and moved to Casnovia.

Dan and Joyce loved to travel and took many trips. Some of their trips were pulling a camper across the country with their family. Other trips involved them jumping on their Honda and hitting the  road with their life long friends Jim and Pat Martin or Ben and Bev Sobieski. They covered the country all the way to Alaska and back.

Joyce passed away in 2009 and left a hole in Dan’s heart. Soon after her passing he developed Alzheimer’s and all the memories slipped away. Dan left behind a family that loved him~ daughter Cathy (Wozniak) & Greg Clover their children Michael Clover, Caitlin Clover.  Daughter Mary Wozniak and her husband Larry Bickel. Siblings Richard & Phyllis Wozniak, Ronald & Diane Wozniak, Mary Ann Walker, sisters-in-law Carla Truesdell Kurt, and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no service for Dan just great memories of his life. Please feel free to share your memories and pictures with the rest of the people who loved him.

Donations are encouraged to Emmanuel Hospice or to Alzheimer’s research. This is a terrible disease that must be stopped.
