Ed started his radio career with WLAV in 1970 and stayed there until 1979 when he moved to WCUZ for 16 years. In 1995, Uncle Buck returned to WLAV for the remainder of his radio career. Along with his many mornings on the radio waves of WLAV, he was also well known for “The Ed Buchanan Comedy Hour” and more recently  “Breakfast in the Basement” where he spent Sunday mornings highlighting Michigan artists and sharing his music knowledge with listeners. He loved finding new talent and helping them get noticed.

Aside from radio and music, Ed enjoyed gardening, reading, Detroit Tigers Baseball and playing as much golf as possible.
