On October 18th at 11:45 pm, Edward Nyenhuis completed his work on Earth and began the eternal life he’d hoped for through faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Of his 82 years of life, he spent 35 years with his late wife, Karen Heydenburg, with whom he raised five children, Debra Essenburg, Rick (Maureen) Nyenhuis, Susan (Phil) Geysbeek, Kimberly Cleveland and Scott Nyenhuis. The last 19 years he lived with his wife Lorraine and was father to her children Michelle (Howard) Bradley, Diane Parks and Angela (Michael) Mayberry-Watkins. He left to grieve his loss 20 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
Ed loved to laugh and joke and made friends along the way who shared his love for fishing, early in his life, but as his health declined, he retired his fishing pole for a good set of golf clubs.
His love and deep faith in God has served to see him safely through the end of life as we know it, into the promised eternal life. Well done, Ed, you’re our champion.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 11:00 am, at Oakhill Church, 1930 Leonard St NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505. Family will greet friends one hour prior.
