Sourbeck, James E. “Jim”, Aged 54 of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday August 22, 2018. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 12, 1963. The family moved to Grand Rapids in 1974 and Jim was a graduate of Forest Hills Central High School.
Throughout his childhood Jim became fascinated with how things worked and spent his spare time taking things apart and putting them back together and/or fixing them. He spent years working in maintenance and became quite skilled at his profession and whenever anyone had a household or vehicle problem he was always there to lend a helping hand. In 1986 he and his father took a hobby of mutual interest, vintage slot cars, and started an online/catalog business attending many toy shows together over the years. The last several years he had branched off on his own adventure buying and selling radio controlled cars and parts. He had a passion for old rock music, vintage cars, Nascar, was an avid Star Wars and Three Stooges fan and loved his two dogs.
He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 18 years Florence, stepson Mitchell, a grand-daughter, parents Edward and Barbara Sourbeck of Cascade, sisters Catherine (Andrew) Dominguez of Arizona and Deborah Sourbeck of Grand Rapids. Nieces Lindsey Barks, Danielle (Jeremy) Molesky, Kristen (Mitchell) Cobb. Nephews Gabriel and Alexander Dominguez. great niece Amaya Hall and great nephews Austin, Brody and Jax Molesky. Donald (Jan) Sourbeck, Wayne (Linda) Sourbeck, Joseph (Sharon) Zundel, Sandy Sourbeck and many cousins.
Cremation and a private ceremony has taken place and Jim was interred at the Cascade Township Cemetary Coulumbarium
