Joan E Stagg-Gallagher

 Joan Elizabeth (Ebbie) age 85, a beloved wife, mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother (GG) and friend. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 23, 2018 after a courageous battle with lung cancer and other health issues the past few months.

Anyone who knew Ebbie knew she was a social butterfly from the greatest generation. Born in Grand Rapids, Mi she spent most her life in East Grand Rapids and at her lake home in Macatawa. She spent many summers on the tennis courts as a player and as the President/Treasurer of Macatawa Tennis Club.

Ebbie was blessed to have many childhood friends by her side until her final days. Her contagious smile, generosity and homemade chocolate chip cookies were second to none. She loved to play bridge, volunteered in the John T. Hodgen Guild and enjoyed all days at the lake with her family and friends. She graduated from Ottawa Hills in 1950, a student at Michigan State University where she pursued her love for interior design and went on to be the owner of E.S Accessories and The Right Effect.

Her creativeness and passion for her work showed in many homes across Grand Rapids. Ebbie was one to travel with her husband for work and pleasure. They were blessed to experience places like Singapore, Malaysia, Africa, the Baltic Sea and many stops within the USA.

She is preceded in death by her son Amos A. Stagg IV (Lonnie) and survived by her husband, Joseph Gallagher, son, Robert Stagg (T'Onna), daughter, Brenda Stagg (Kirk), grandchildren, Niki (Nick) Brayden and Lucas, Jaime (Leigh) Sophie and Nora, Ryder (Ashleigh), and Gina (Frank) Brody and Jersey.

There will be a Celebration of Life event to remember her at Macatawa Bay Yacht Club, Macatawa, MI 49434, July 29 2-5pm
