John Vriezema

The Lord declared John’s mansion prepared and welcomed him there on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at the age of 85. Greeting him there was his father, John and mother, Bertha; sister, Martha and her husband John Watkins; brother-in-law, Bob Wilberham; and brother, Robert.

Surviving him is his loving wife and best friend of 65 years, Anne. He is also survived by his sons, Jeff (Patti) and Tim (Brenda), six grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren; his sisters, Henrietta Wilberham, Wilma Schutte; his sister-in-law, Viola Vriezema.

He loved to fish and hunt, and worked in his woodworking shop making beautiful furniture and crafts. John and Anne loved to travel and spent many winters in Florida. He retired from General Motors in 1995. After the onset of Parkinson’s disease and his abilities were limited, John loved to sit on the deck at the lake and enjoy the many birds that visited his feeders.

He was a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather. He will be missed by all.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
