"Katie, aged 61, of Wyoming Michigan entered Heaven and earned her wings on Sunday, January 12, 2020. Katie was born to the late Doris and William O'Donnell of Muskegon, Michigan on July 16, 1958. She was one of six children and always willing to lend a helping hand.
Her gentle spirit and unending care for others lead her to a degree in Special Education at Michigan State University. She fell in love, married and found her passion and purpose in this life was to be a mother. Her children, Jonathan and twins, Margaret (Matt Rosloniec) and Mary (Nate Jansen), became the center of her universe. Katie's heart overflowed with joy as she watched them grow. She was always there for her children, volunteering, supporting their schools and she was the biggest fan at all of their sporting events. Her warm-hearted presence touched the lives of many in the community and she earned a very special place in their hearts.
One of the greatest blessings in Katie's life was becoming a grandmother to Adelaide (5), Avery (8) and Alex (5). She was incredibly involved in her grandchildren's lives and it was amazing to see the way the kids and Grandma Katie would light up when together.
Katie lived her life sharing God's love with all those around her. She was a beautiful, kind-hearted soul that always put the needs of others first. She leaves behind a legacy of true, unconditional love.
Katie's family will be celebrating her life on Friday, January 24th from 6-8pm at the SpartanNash YMCA Community Room. Please join as they celebrate with food, laughter and share memories of a woman that meant the world to them.
