Laurie Ann (Ferguson) Shavalier

Shavalier, Laurie Ann passed away at home, surrounded by family, on August 30, 2019 at the age of 80.  Laurie is predeceased by her parents Ward and Marian Ferguson, and Ron, her loving husband of 54 years.

Laurie is remembered and will be greatly missed by her children Ron (Gwen), Robin, Shelly, Jeff (Anita), five granddaughters Megan, Tess (Kevin), Jessie, Sydney, Nicole, sister and best friend Linda (Dave) Evans and brother Doug (Ellie) Ferguson. Also, Sarah, Sophie, Marie, Bear, Boo, Frank and her dear protector Cash.

Laurie was born in Grand Rapids, MI in 1939. She graduated from Creston High School and attended Grand Rapids Junior College. In addition to raising a family, she worked at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Jacobson’s Department Store and Janie’s Cookies where she worked side-by-side with her sister Linda.  She was a fantastic cook and she enjoyed rescuing, adopting and caring for domestic and wild animals.
