Lia Agrusa, nee Maniaci, age 75 passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2019 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Lia was born on May 14, 1943 in Sicily and moved to the United States in 1959. She married the love of her life, Vito Agrusa in New York. They later had one daughter, Grace Agrusa. Together, Lia and Vito owned restaurants both in the United States and Sicily. Lia was a devoted sister, aunt, cousin, friend, mother, grandmother and most of all great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Vito Agrusa, and her parents, Girolama and Vito Maniaci.
She is survived by her siblings, Anthony (Laura) Maniaci, Maria Vitale (Bob Kenney), and Leonardo (Ghada) Maniaci. She is also survived by her daughter, Grace Agrusa, her granddaughters, Melissa, Sabrina, and Cristina La Fata and her great-grandchildren, Jiovani La Fata, Viviana La Fata, and soon to be great-grandson Domenico Engle along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be a Memorial Mass Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at Our Lady of Sorrow, 101 Hall St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49507.
