Mark Devin Travis

Mark Devin Travis age 60 of Grand Rapids, MI left his earthly home to be with Jesus on Thursday, April 5​  2018 surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Mark was born on December 15​, 1957 in Ypsilanti, MI. Mark spent his formative years along with his 6 brothers exploring the streets of Rockford making many lifelong friends along the way. Mark was a 1976 graduate of Rockford High School where he was a 4 year member of the wrestling team. Mark also graduated with honors from Ferris State University.

Mark married the love of his life Connie Noom on August 8​, 1981.  They raised their family in Texas and Michigan where Mark started 3 Pest Control Businesses.

Mark made it no secret that Jesus was number one in his life by sharing the Gospel through music. In fact, just 3 hours before he left us Mark sang Just a Closer Walk with Thee on his guitar. Mark loved being around people (Big families will do that to you) which showed through his mission trips to Haiti, being a Christian camp  counselor, instructing Tae Kwon Do, singing at nursing homes and performing for the homeless at Degage’.

Mark was preceded in death by his father Jim Travis Sr., brother Gary and grandparents.

Mark will be greatly missed by his loving wife Connie, children David Travis, Sheri (Chris) Monroe, Molly Travis and Rachel Travis. His best buddy, Grandson Killian Monroe. Mother Sue Travis. Brothers Jim (Lou Ann), Larry (Nancy), Mike (Terri), Jeff (Jennifer) and Tom (Irene). Many brother and sister in-laws, nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles and several friends survive. 

A time of visitation for Mark will be Sunday, April 8th from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at Leisure Village Lodge 5305 Circle Dr.  NE Belmont, MI  49306. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 9th, 2018 at 11:00 am at Plainfield Christian Church 7255 Pine Island Dr.  NE, Comstock Park, MI  49321 with the Reverend Inge Whittemore officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
