Peter John Osborne was finally granted entrance into his heavenly reward on July 21, 2019 as a result of an accident at home. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI on December 11, 1948. Pete was a graduate of Lowell High School and Ferris State University. He took great pride in being a rigger and machine repairman and he was also a respected official for school and recreational sporting events. He was honored to be a Mason and was an active Moose member. Pete enjoyed participating in the Village Players of Middleville as well as his son's Boy Scout troop, always ready to lend a hand or join a camping trip. He was a master at the grill and delighted in serving as a gracious host. This afforded him the opportunity to gather with friends and family and engage in storytelling, one of his favorite past times. Pete was famous for his popcorn, always willing to make a batch whenever he was asked.
He will be fondly remembered by his wife of nearly 50 years, Jane, his children, Amanda Riddle, Benjamin Osborne, David and Valerie Osborne, two granddaughters he adored, his sister Errolyn (Lyle) Weeks, and many nieces and nephews. Pete said, "I love you" often so those most precious to him were confident of his love and the pride he had for them.
The Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 11 AM at Redeemer OPC, 8605 E. Fulton Ada, MI 49301. In lieu of flowers, if you are able, please consider donating blood and/or registering to be an organ donor.
