Richard J. Blok, born October 20, 1930 passed away Thursday, August 29, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Estell Blok; brother Loyde (Peg) Blok; first wife Marjory Blok; daughter Susan Shukis; and second wife Jeann Weeda. He is survived by his children, Gail Blok, Gary (Chris) Blok, Tracy (Doug) Schneider, Ginger (Rob) Wierenga, Maggie (Joe) Doorenbos; step children Anne Weeda, Linda (Larry) Patterson, Bonnie (Bill) Reamon, Kay Don (Diane) Weeda, Pat Beck (Bud Klinger), Sue (Dick) Wager, Tom Weeda, Colleen (Rob) Burnett, Kyle (Samantha) Weeda; many, many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother in law, Keith Falan and his wife, Sandy Falan; sister in law, Edith Falan.
A graduate of Comstock Park High School, Richard was also a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served during the Korean War. He became a Life member of American Legion Post #47 in Comstock Park, Michigan, a member of the AMVETs and retired from Tubular Sales
Richard was a sportsman and loved to hunt and fish with his son Gary. He played baseball and softball retiring from the sport at the age of 72.
He was a big fan of U of M football and basketball and loved his Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions.
Richard filled his summers with family cook outs, fish fries and smoking fish and wild game in the smoker while tending his pepper and tomato garden and drinking a few beers.
There will be a Memorial Service for Richard Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at American Legion Post #47, 3811 W. River Drive NE, Comstock Park, MI
