Rodney “Scott” Leys, 60 of Walker, MI passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 4, 2018.
Scott was born and lived in the Grand Rapids area his entire life. Scott married the love of his life, Diane, in July, 1982. Scott was an active participant in the Grand Rapids Street Rod Association. He loved to camp, fish and spend time with his family and friends.
Preceded in death: wife Diane K. Leys, son Michael S. Leys, father Lyle J. Leys Sr., mother Alice J (Loughner) Leys.
Surviving: Children: Brandi L. Leys, Chad L. (Elyse) Leys, Kimberley L. Leys; Grandchildren: Parker Rapelje, Andre Harmon, Kaylee Leys, Alivia Leys, Blake Moor and expected granddaughter Zorianna; Siblings: Janice Stevens, Cathy (Stanley) Elwartowski, Russell, Leys, Karen (Wayne) Berens, Robin (Daniel) Pegg, Lyle (Barbara) Leys Jr.; Step-brothers: James (Cindy) Cook, Dean Cook, Robert Cook; Stepmother: Luella Leys; Best buddy: Timothy Southard (Bubbles) and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
There will be a Memorial Service Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Remembrance Church, 4575 Remembrance Road NW, Grand Rapids, MI. Family will receive visitors from 11:00 – 12:00. A reception with light refreshments will follow the service.
