Sherri Dawn (Smith) Gibson

Sherri Gibson went home to be with Jesus on May 2nd, 2018 after spending 55 years here.

She was preceded in death by her mother Nelgene M. Smith and her father Reginald Smith Sr.

She was married to Doug for 23 years. Others left behind include her daughter, Sydney, son Matthew, and step-daughter Aubri. Also surviving are her siblings Reginald Jr. “Smitty” (Sally) Smith, Michael Smith (Tammy Thompson), Judy Newville, Joe (Gail) Gibson, and Jim Gibson, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

God blessed Sherri with many wonderful friends from everywhere she lived.

Sherri loved Gauley Bridge, West Virginia, the place of her birth and childhood. The past 33 years she resided in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Sherri played basketball and loved all sports. There was no one more competitive. Sherri served in the United States Army and later worked for seven years as a correctional officer.

Love of family and her children were her top priority.

There will be a visitation in her memory on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Memorial Alternatives Chapel, 2432 Fuller Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan.
