Adele Joan Bright

Adele Joan Bright was born on October 20th, 1941 in Grand Rapids, MI. She passed into the arms of God at the age of 79 on August 10th, 2021. Preceded in her death were her parents Clarence & Irene Allersma, brother Donald Allersma and daughter Mary Beth Hopkins. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 63 years, Jack Bright, Sr. Missing her infectious smile and wit are brother William Allersma (Bev Scott); children James Bright (Linda), Jack Bright, Jr. (Cindy), Donald Bright (Laura) and Tamara Derylo (Marty); Grandchildren Jessica Coleman (Chris), Jacob Bright (Jaimee), Timothy Bright (Nichole), Tracy Hadaway (Kyle) and Samantha Derylo; many great & great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; cousins and faithful dog Laytu, and many friends.

Adele met her future husband when she was only 7 years old (Jack was 9 years old). A lifelong love and marriage eventually flourished. Adele and Jack enjoyed traveling/camping together and spending time at the club. For many decades, summers were spent at their place at Lincoln Lake. Adele enjoyed playing games including Skip-Bo, Cribbage and Tonk. Some of her accomplishments include being a member of an award-winning Drill Team and being elected President of The Eagles Club. “Adele’s Taxi” was always on call as a sign of her devotion to close family and friends. She was a caring and loyal companion to her mother for many years.

Special thanks are offered to the staff at SKLD-Zeeland, Pilgrim Manor and Emmanuel Hospice. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Humane Society of West Michigan. Visitation will be on August 13th from 11am to noon at: Memorial Alternatives, 2432 Fuller Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505. A private service will follow.
