Amy Rose Burke, age 58, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Chesaning and Au Gres, passed away on August 11, 2025. She was born April 1, 1967, in Saginaw, to Rose Marie and the late Robert Gasper.
Amy is survived by her husband, Ronald Burke; children, Maggie (Dave) Slusser and Tyler (Sabrina) Burke; grandchildren, Ella, Dylan, Jacob, and Monroe; mother, Rose Marie Gasper; siblings, Dave (Denise) Gasper, Jeff (Janet) Gasper, Cindy (Dave) Lewicki, Sue Henige (Tom Martin), and Dan (Cindy) Gasper; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Gasper; brother-in-law, Tim Henige; and cousin, Julie Bell.
A proud graduate of Au Gres High School, Class of 1985, Amy went on to own and operate Rugrats Daycare for more than 20 years, caring for children with warmth and love. She was beloved for her bubbly personality, deep love of animals and flowers, and generous heart. In 2019, she was honored with the President’s Award from the American Porphyria Foundation for her dedication to the Porphyria community, a cause close to her heart. On April 24, 1997, Amy married the love of her life, Ronald Burke, and together they built a family filled with joy, love, and laughter.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Peter Catholic Parish in Chesaning. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
A celebration of Amy’s life will be held in an open-house style gathering on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Eastern Hall, 506 Eastern Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. Family and friends are invited to share memories and honor her life.
