Ann Lawrence Ammond passed away on Thursday, September 23rd, 2021 at the age of 89 while living at Clark Home. Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Philip C. Ammond, Jr. in November, 2018 at the age of 90. Ann was also preceded in death by two of her sons David (1978) and Ted (2019).
Ann graduated from Petoskey High School in 1950 and went on to become an RN at Hackley Hospital School of Nursing in Muskegon, MI. She spent many years working in the Neo-Natal unit at Blodgett Hospital once she and Phil moved from Muskegon to Grand Rapids in 1956. She always had a passion for working with newborn babies.
Referred to as “Fudge” by many, she was known for her friendliness and spunky attitude. She was the sort of person who never met a stranger. She enjoyed sewing, reading, going to the beach and was always up for finding a good bargain! As a self proclaimed “Commander & Chief “of the family, she ran a tight ship trying to keep all 5 kids in-line growing up.
Ann is survived by her son Chuck Ammond (Linda), daughters Lisa Larsen (Mike), Suzi Shirley (Sean) and her 7 grandkids; Kristina, David, Michaela, Tess, Emma, Brittany, and Devin.
