Barbara Hendges Obituary

Hendges, Barbara Irene of Grand Rapids passed away September 26,2022. Born on April 27, 1946. Barb was preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Orva Bartholomew, her husband Robert Hendges, daughter Kellee Carlson, sister Jackie Bartholomew, and son in law Brian Johnson. She is survived by her son Scott (Kim) DeWitt, stepchildren Jeff(Vonda) Hendges, Penny Johnson, Kris (Tim) Johnston. Grandchildren Rick (Amber) Jason (Ashley) Justin (Cara) Hendges, Brittany (Cory) Pike, Amy (Grant) Gould, Amanda Johnston, Michelle (John) Vanderburg, Mary (Ted) Reichert. 20 great grandchildren and nephew Ty. Barb loved all animals but especially dogs. She had many over the years that she loved so dearly, too many to name, with Indi being her last most treasured companion. Barb was very proud of her Native American heritage and attended pow wows whenever she was able. There will be a graveside service for family at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Grand Rapids or the American Heart Association.
