Barbara Josephine (Zundel) Sourbeck

Barbara Josephine (Zundel) Sourbeck passed away August 24, 2024, at the age of 84, in her longtime Cascade Township home.

Barbara was born on June 28, 1940 and raised in Detroit where she met her husband of over 65 years on a blind date at just 16 years old. Their first three years of marriage were spent in Germany where Ed was stationed in the US Army. There they would make lifelong friends that came to be regarded as extended family. Once back in the United States she would go on to raise three wonderful children, have a career as a telephone operator for over thirty years, assist her husband in running a successful slot car business and celebrated endless occasions with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Barbara blessed many with her kind spirit and giving heart always making sure that those around her got what they needed-even if they didn't realize they needed It in the first place! Always putting others before herself, this kindness extended beyond her family and friends whether it be to employees at places that she frequented or to those who ran the estate sales that she enjoyed immensely.

She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Edward Sourbeck, daughters Catherine (Andrew) Dominguez and Deborah Sourbeck, grandchildren Kristen (Mitch) Cobb, Danielle (Jeremy) Molesky, Gabe and Alex Dominguez and her great grandchildren Amaya, Austin, Brody, Jax and Reagan. She also leaves behind her brother Joseph (Sharon) of Westland, MI as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her son James (Florence) Sourbeck and granddaughter Lindsey (Bill) Barks- Bergakker.
