Bette J. Boersma passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026 in Grandville Michigan at the age of 76.
Bette was a published author who found joy in the written word. She also loved watercolor painting and expressed her creativity with a gentle, thoughtful spirit. Above all, she was devoted to her husband, children, and grandchildren. Bette had a rare gift for giving her full, undivided attention to anyone she was with. Her wise counsel, deep love, and steady presence enriched every life she touched.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Jane Rau; her father, William Lawrence O’Toole; and her brother, Michael O’Toole.
Bette leaves behind her husband, Henry Boersma and their four children Michael Boersma; Jennifer (John) Freeman; David (Amy) Boersma; Ryan (Stacey) Boersma. She also leaves behind her eight grandchildren Andrew (Tori), Nathan, Grace (Steven), Olivia, Parker, Lilly, Annison, Lennon, one great grandchild Isla and her brother and sister Patrick O’Toole, Kathleen Stover
A memorial service will be held at 1pm on April 11, 2026 at Homefront Church located at 6585 8th Ave, Grandville, MI 49418.
