Bonnie Lou (VanderMoere) Shupe

Bonnie Lou Shupe, aged 77 of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away unexpectedly at Butterworth Hospital, Wednesday, October 21, 2020.

Bonnie was born at home in Grandville, Michigan where she lived for 8 years before moving to the family farm in Byron Township.

She married Jerrold in March of 1963.

Bonnie worked for the City of Grand Rapids for 16 years and for the City Non-uniformed Union for 31 years till she retired at the age of 70.

Bonnie was predeceased by her parents, Marinus and Margaret (Spaman) VanderMoere; stepmother, Caroline; sister, Patricia Sproule and stepbrother, Judson (Lynn) Hondorp.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Jerrold; daughter, Toni (Steve) Gjeltema of Valley Center, CA; son, Michael (Joël) Shupe of Calumet, MI; sister, Marcia (Robert) Henning of Comstock Park, MI; brother, Frank (Barbara) VanderMoere, and stepbrother Paul (Mary) Hondorp of Byron Center, MI; grandchildren, Alexa (Allen) Buning, Max (Kaeleigh) Gjeltema and Victoria (Dillon) Kimmel; great grandchildren, Jordan and Abilene Buning and Flora Fae Gjeltema.

There will be a visitation Wednesday, October 28, 2020 from 4-6 pm at Memorial Alternatives, 2432 Fuller Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505 and a funeral service Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 11:00 also at Memorial Alternatives. Pastor Chris Bouma officiating.
