Burr Wright Obituary

Burr Spencer Wright March 1, 1938 – March 7,2025 - Born to Burr Clifford Wright and Muriel Catherine (Mullins) Wright in Lansing, Michigan. Known as Spence to his parents, he was the last survivor of their ten children. Georgia, Patty, Ernest, Charles, Harold, Catherine, Janet, Muriel (Grace), and Patrick have already died more than 7 years prior.

Spence left home after getting his GED to join the USAF in 1955 as an Aircraft and Missile Logistics Support Ground Maintenance Technician.  He served overseas at Wheelus AFB, Tripoli, Libya and Ramstein AB, Kaiserslautern, Germany.

Home on leave, he was introduced to Sondra Simone Wright (deceased April 10, 2017) by his sister Catherine at a Christmas party.  They fell in love and quickly married on January 2, 1959 in Mason, Michigan.

The USAF moved the family to Maine and Florida before Burr separated as an E-4 in 1964.  Burr went to the Michigan Career and Technical Institute which gave him the technical skills for many different careers.

Burr and Sondra had nine children: Veronica, Kenneth (Elizabeth), Kathleen, Carrie, Rachel (Warren), Daniel (deceased), Loren, Tina, and Mark (Marce).

Both Burr and Sondra were baptized by Pastor Powers Payton and attended New Life Baptist Fellowship Church of Byron Center, Michigan where Burr was a deacon for many years.

Burr leaves behind two brothers-in-law, James Schaub and Ronald Schaub along with his 8 children, who have 27 grandchildren, who have 56 great-grandchildren (1 deceased) and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

The immediate family will be celebrating his life at a private event in July.
