Carl Emil Newberg Jr, was born June 18, 1923 and passed away March 10, 2020 at the age of 96.
He leaves his loving wife of 72 years, Margaret. Surviving are his sons, Robert (Cathy), Carl (Anne), Thomas (Paula), Charles (Marisa), 14 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren, and special friend and caregiver Doris.
Carl served in the Navy during WWII as a gunners mate – 1st class. Tour of Duty included the invasion of Normandy, his ship was part of the storming of Utah Beach. He owned and operated Medical Arts Dental Lab. He loved to golf, fish and bowl.
For years dad hosted Deer Camp with all his boys at the family cottage on Harper Lake, Making so many wonderful memories.
A celebration of life will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 250 Commerce SW, Grand Rapids, MI at a time to be announced at a later date.
Carl loved his family church which was founded April 3, 1873 by a group of Swedish immigrants at the home of Mr. & Mrs. John Newberg, Carl’s grand-parents.
