Carl. E. Rigney

Carl Edward Rigney passed away on July 9, 2025 at the age of 90.  He was born on March 5, 1935 in Grand Rapids to the late Carl and Elizabeth Rigney.  He will be lovingly remembered by his son Peter Rigney, grandchildren Peter E. (Jen) Rigney, Zachary D. Rigney, Jessica Hebda, great granddaughter Jasmine Hebda, brothers and sister Jerry Rigney, Marylou Bartosiewicz, Kathleen Lohrberg, Betty and Joe Kowalski, Lee and Linda Rigney. Carl was preceded in death by his wife Carol and son Michael.  

Carl served during the Korean War in the Army.  He spent his career as a mechanical engineer working for numerous companies.  He loved studying film, movie productions and how things were made.  He was a lifelong Jehovahs Witness and will be greatly missed by family and friends.  

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Memorial Alternatives on Friday July 18 from 1-3pm and 6-8pm with military honors under the auspices of the Kent County Honor Guard being performed at 1pm.  Private interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery.
