Cheryl Kay Bruinsma age 81 of Jenison passed away Saturday, February 15th 2025 at home with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by the great love of her life, her husband of 61 years Ronald Bruinsma in 2023, and her parents Genevieve Francisco and Henry Vanduinen.
She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Darla Mathis and brother Charles (Taryn) Francisico. Her children Fred (Pat) Bruinsma of white Cloud, Wendy (Jeff) Prather of Wyoming and Ron (Danya) Bruinsma of Allendale. Grandchildren Tim Bruinsma, Troy (Kristen) Bruinsma, Nick Prather, Alex (Haylee) Prather, Adam McIntyre, Emma Bruinsma, Greg Bruinsma, Shaun Bruinsma and many great Grandchildren.
Our hearts are broken as our family has lost the greatest mother, grandmother, and great grandmother anyone could ask for. She raised our family with unconditional love and support and the life she built with our father was the kind of love story that only happens once in a lifetime. Her kind loving heart and beautiful soul touched the lives of everyone around her and the world shines brighter because she was here. Cheryl loved working in her flower gardens, spending time with her family and cherished the time she spent at the cottage working side by side with dad, or just relaxing in the sunshine.
We all take comfort in knowing she has no more pain, and she is resting in Dad’s loving arms once again, and that is the place she truly loved most of all. Rest well mom, we love you and we will see you and dad again one day.
Per Cheryl’s wishes no services will be held. A private celebration for Ron and Cheryl will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Michigan, or your favorite charity.
