Claire Wolkow Obituary

Born in Detroit, Michigan on July 29, 1929 Claire Mae (Miles) Wolkow passed away peacefully at home surrounded by all who loved her February 1, 2020. Having left this earth Claire will now be with Mother and Father God on the other side to be the “Keeper of the Animals.”

Claire was preceded in death by her husband Anthony Peter, Sr. and her son Anthony Peter, Jr. Left on this earth my loved ones; Michele (Wolkow) Graham, Reginald (Tex) Graham and Mark Kevin Wolkow. Grand-children, Nathan John, Katherine (Laswell) Wolkow and Amity Lynn Wolkow. Great-grandchildren, Hayden Christian, Gwendolyn Dixie, George Anthony, Conner Joseph and Grace Lynn. Extended family Norma and Duaine Reichelt, their children and grand-children who always held a very special place in Claire’s heart. The list of loved ones that Claire leaves behind is much too long to name everyone however; she definitely has left you all a very special message; I love you all, please live in peace surrounded by the “White Light” and be protected by the Holy Spirit and Arch Angels.

Claire was an avid tennis lover and rarely missed any televised tournament. All who knew and loved Claire never doubted her love and dedication to family; she exuded pride when bragging about any of their accomplishments no matter how minute they may have been. One of her personal achievements and greatest loves was when she became a volunteer Docent at Frederik Meijer Gardens. Entertaining the visitors, especially the children on the tram as it toured through the beautiful art and landscapes was the epitome of enjoyment for her. Claire was an amazing person, friend, Aunt, Gramma, Sister, but most of all the greatest Mother than my brother Mark and I (Michele) could have ever asked for. Mom; you had “Moxie”….. and as you would more than likely say; “I will dare to just do what I do. Be just what I am. And dance whenever I want to!: A special thanks to Faith Hospice during Claire’s last days. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 1, 2020. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Humane Society of West Michigan, 3077 Wilson Dr. NW Grand Rapids, Michigan 49534.
