Connie Marie Burton-Stoner, 64, of Grand Rapids, MI, formerly from Lake Park, MN went home to be with her Lord Jesus on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 after a brave battle with cancer. Connie was born September 12, 1955 in Grand Rapids and a 1973 graduate of Rogers High School in Wyoming, MI, where she was Senior Class President, on the gymnastics team and talented artist. She attended Grand Valley State University majoring in Art. She loved music, humor, art and traveling the US. She lived in FL, CA, CO, OR and settled in MN in 1986. She worked in the paralegal field, co-owned and managed several businesses. Before retiring she managed a housing community for the disabled. Her greatest joy came from time spent with family and friends. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother who will be dearly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents Mary (Stone) and William Burton, brothers Richard and Rene Burton, and longtime companion Glenn Varholdt of Detroit Lakes, MN. She is survived by her son Aaron (Rhonda) Riffle of Enterprise, AL; brother James (Debbie) Burton of Belmont; sisters Margo (Pat) Perry of Grand Rapids; and Diane (Lance) Timmer of Walker; granddaughters Sadie and Megan Riffle; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A celebration of Connie’s life will be held on Saturday, July 11 from noon to 3:00 pm at Walker Community Park, 700 Cummings. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Connie.
