Craig Catlin Heldman, a proud veteran of the United States Navy and GM retiree, graduated to heaven at the age of 76 on Thursday, June 25, 2026.
Craig was always eager to share a story with anyone he met. If you ever talked to him, he likely told you about his time serving in the Navy on the Galveston, how he met and fell in love with his wife Joyce, or his enjoyment of cribbage, his most recent snack obsessions, and his homemade beef jerky. Quick to show generosity to others, Craig looked for opportunities to give in both big and small ways. Whether it was assembling men’s shaving kits to donate to Exodus Place or bringing fruit snacks to share with others during his cancer treatments, Craig was a truly joyful giver.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Joyce Heldman. He is lovingly remembered by his son, Chad (Julie) Heldman; daughter, Jodee Heldman; siblings and other relatives.
A celebration of his life in Christ will take place at 11am on Saturday, July 18,2026, at Forest Hills Bible Chapel, 4637 Ada Dr. SE, Ada, MI 49301.
The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service. A donut reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Exodus Place or Faith Hospice.
