It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dale Thomas Bennett, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who was born on November 11, 1948, to Florence Marie Bennett and Thomas Leonard Bennett.
Dale grew up as the oldest of four siblings and graduated from Creston High School. He met the love of his life, Sheila, at 20 years old, and they shared 56 beautiful years of marriage, raising three wonderful daughters, and enjoying countless precious moments together.
Dale spent most of his career working as an automotive steel worker at Michigan Bumper, where his exceptional work ethic earned him great respect. He took immense pride in providing for his family and was a rock for those around him.
In his free time, Dale enjoyed spending time with his beloved dog Bailey, fishing, traveling, trying his luck with scratch-off lotto tickets, and savoring good food. However, his greatest joy was being a grandpa to his four cherished grandchildren, whom he adored and loved with all his heart.
Dale was a faithful servant of Aldersgate Church for 25 years, and his strong faith was a guiding force in his life. He is now at peace, surrounded by the love of God, and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Dale is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Bennett; mother, Florence Bennett; nephew, Brian Burrell; brother, Bill Bennett; and sister, Pat Jepsen. He leaves behind his loving wife of 56 years, Sheila Bennett; daughters Carol (Marc) Simpson, Cathy (Lance) Tuttle, and Cindy Fourn; grandchildren Bryce Fourn, Katie Simpson, Riley Simpson, George Wilmer; sister, Diane Kamysiak (Dan); nieces Sheila Jepsen and Kim Smith, all of whom will carry on his legacy of love and kindness.
A celebration of Dale's life will be held at 11am on Saturday 20, 2025 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church located 4301 Ambrose Ave NE Grand Rapids, Mi, 49525.
