He was a graduate in 1983 from Comstock Park High School, he then achieved his degree in computer science from Grand Valley State University. During his college years he worked at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel and worked his way through to become the Best Server in the area. D.J. loved to travel! He enjoyed many summers in Sandbridge Beach Va. and would get to Florida/Key West whenever possible. He loved to spend time with family and friends, usually the center of attention! Saugatuck was also a place you might find D.J. soaking up the sun by the pool. Sunday afternoon football and card parties were a regular occurrence with family and friends. Later in his life he met the love of his life Jay. After years in Grand Rapids they decided to move to Zephyrhills Fla.
