Daniel Asbury Johnston

Dan left to be with Jesus on Saturday September 2, 2023 with his wife and children by his side.

Dan will be remembered for making people laugh with his many pranks (voice messages) with different voices and endless stories.

He really enjoyed playing euchre and any other games with family and friends, church group Young at Heart, karaoke, boating, bowling, working on projects, and helping others. Dan’s greatest ability was to make others feel loved and cared for. He loved life with all of us.

 Dan worked as a “Gas Man” in Chicago and did building maintenance for Grandville, Caledonia and KISD (Pine Grove Learning Center) schools.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents, Arlene and Robert Johnston and brother Bobby Johnston. He is survived by his wife, Tammie and his two children Lance and Claire Johnston.  

Dan is also survived by his eleven siblings, Bertie (Tom) Parrett, Jackie (Jeff) Pope, Paula (Chris) Pestrak, Laura (Michael) Renteria, Marty Johnston, Larry (Linda) Johnston, Charlie Johnston, Christopher “Rocky” Johnston, Julie (Scott) Hochberg, Jenny (Mark) Renk, Joey Johnston, and many nieces and nephews, and Mother-in-law, Phyllis Welch, In-laws, Gary and Judy Ramsower. Many friends equivalent to Family.

A Celebration of Dan’s Life held at 2 o’clock on Saturday September 16, 2023 at Banner Church of Christ, located 1111 68th St. SW Byron Center, MI 49315.
