David John Lewkowski

Dave (David) John Lewkowski, 79, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, succumbed to cancer in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family on March 22 , 2020.

Dave is survived by his wife of 56 years Janina, daughters Susan Johnson and Karen Clees, his brothers Thomas Lewkowski and Robert Lewkowski and sister Kathleen Smant, his 5 grandchildren Derik, Cory, Kaylie, Harlee and Dylan.  He is also survived by his much-adored great grandchildren Alexi and Talon, their mother Sara, and his great grandchild Adrian, his niece, Colleen, whom he thought of as his granddaughter, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. Dave was a loving father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to everyone.

Dave loved gardening and brought joy to many around him with his beautiful gardens and plants. His greatest happiness was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

Visitation will be not be held due to the current social distancing situation.  A memorial service will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Comstock Park Congregational United Church of Christ, 62 Lamoreaux Dr. NE, Comstock Park, MI 49321 or the American Cancer Society at Cancer.org.
