Dennis J. Daining, aged 80 passed away, March 1, 2020.
I lived 80 grateful years. I was born to Simon R. and Elizabeth E. Daining. I lived in the Grand Rapids area all my life.
I am survived by my lovely wife, Judi (Oosdyke), my daughter, Liz (Scott) Slotman, my sister, Ruth Kemp, and my second family; Jennifer and Ryan, Andy and Mollie, Louie and Katie, our 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
I want to give sincerest thanks to our oldest grandsons, Zach, Cody and Sam; Dr. K. Agerson, my friend, Greg Madura and Spectrum Hospice.
I loved being a high school history teacher and coach for GRPS and coaching at GRCC.
In my retirement I was a starter at CHCC which gave me the opportunity to golf regularly there.
Golf is my true passion, but along with that was traveling, playing with our dog Pepper, eating hot dogs and spending time with family and many great friends.
Did I mention I loved golf and my lovely wife Judi?
I had FTD, vascular dementia, Lewy Body for over 10 years. I could hide it from some people.
Life was short and wonderful and I now am at peace with God.
