Dorothy June Tock, 93, of Grand Rapids, passed away October 4, 2023 at Medilodge of Grand Rapids.
Dorothy was born in Arlingtion, Minnesota. She spent her early childhood years in Minnesota until her family moved to Bellwood, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. Dorothy graduated from Proviso East High School in 1948. She married Henry "Cookie" Koch in 1951. They raised their family and had many happy years together. As a widow, in 1992 Dorothy moved to Grand Rapids to be near her grandchildren.
Dorothy married Norm Tock in 1993, together they enjoyed being "snowbirds" and wintering in Florida.
Dorothy enjoyed her involvement at Second Congregational Church, particularly her guild and book club activities. She loved playing cards with her dear friend, Ruth Roggow and spending time with her family and extended family, especially her great grandchildren.
Dorothy, known to many as Grandma Dot, is survived by her daughter Joni Johnston, her son Jeff (Sharon) Koch, Jan Lancaster, and Tom Tock. Also surviving are her grandchildren Andy (Claire) Johnston, Holly (Kevin) Dennings and her great grandchildren, Peter, Will, and Elizabeth Johnston, Jackson and Gavin Dennings; sisters Arleen St. Clair, Carol (Roger) Wehrstein, sister-in-law Vy Pockrandt, cousins Lu Grack and Elvira Landgraff, many nieces and nephews, along with the entire Johnston/Rains families.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Clara Pockrandt, sister Delphine Carver, brothers Milo, Butch, and Delton Pockrandt, her son-in-law Kim Johnston, husband Norm Tock (d. 2015) and first husband Henry Koch (d. 1991).
A memorial service to celebrate Dorothy's life will be held on Thursday October 12, 2023 at Second Congregational Church 525 Cheshire NE Grand Rapids, MI 49505 at 11:00 with Rev. Anne Ferris officiating. Following the service, the family would like to invite guests to join them for a luncheon.

The family wishes to express its deepest appreciation to the Garden Grove staff at Medilodge and to the wonderful team from Emmanuel Hospice. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Emmanuel Hospice, Second Congregational Church, or a charity of your choice.
