Elizabeth Ann (Dennis) Jerome

Elizabeth Ann Jerome, age 88 passed away, Friday January 3, 2025.

Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Ivan and Mable Dennis, Betsy graduated from Creston High School. She attended Albion College and in 1959 married her high school sweetheart Ken. Their honeymoon was a road trip to Charlevoix, Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island. This would become almost an annual tradition every summer to the cabins in Charlevoix.

She and Ken attended Second Congregational Church regularly until mobility became an issue. They were members of the beloved Fireside Couples Club of Second Church where they made many life-long friends.

Betsy was well known for being seen on her daily 4-mile walk, Leffingwell to Bradford, East Beltline to Knapp, back to Leffingwell. Wearing her favorite yellow jacket, rain or shine, you could almost set your clock to it.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents Ivan and Mable, husband Ken Jerome, and her sister Jo Ellen Stuit. Together Betsy and Ken had 2 children, Steve (Kim), and Stuart; 4 grandchildren, Aubrae, Taylor, Madison and Molly, whom they loved dearly.

She worked as the Kent County Courthouse adoptions coordinator for more than 25 years, well into her 70’s. A job she loved doing despite the many changes that occurred; new location, off-site parking, and a complete computer programming change. She prevailed!

There will be a visitation to remember both Betsy and Ken (who missed out due to Covid) on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Memorial Alternatives, 2432 Fuller Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505.
