Mrs. Emeline Louise Childs, age 82 of Sparta, Michigan, passed away peacefully in her home on December 18, 2025.She was born in Temple, Texas on October 26, 1943, to Emeline and Jackson Crawford. Emeline is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Horice Childs.
She is survived by her sisters, Elizabeth Willett and Jacklyn Musick.
Louise, as she preferred to be known, relished fine dining, fur coats, and diamonds of course. She exhibited immense pride in her Lebanese heritage which shined through her exquisite homemade cuisine. No one went hungry. Louise cherished her grandchildren and traveled extensively. She was thrilled to find the ‘deal of the century’ at her local thrift stores, garage sales or flea market. Louise worked as a nurse’s aide and later for a doctor as an assistant, eventually branching off with her husband Henry and their oldest daughter, establishing Grand Rapids Furniture, Furniture Liquidators, and Turn of the Century Antiques.
Louise will be remembered by her two daughters, Anita Kline (Ken) and Katherine Encinas, grandchildren Austin Rademacher (Angela), Tarisa Leahy (Daniel), Gabrielle and Seth Encinas, along with her great-grandchildren, Paul and Hannah Rademacher. Special thanks to her adopted children, Robin and Robbie Wagner.
There will be no memorial service at this time. To honor Louise’s memory please make contributions to Mel-Trotter Ministire's.
