Endsley, Frederick 7/9/1934 - 1/14/2022 Grand Rapids Fred was born July 9, 1934 in Hastings MI. He passed away peacefully at home on 1/14/2022. Fred Graduated from Battle Creek Central High School and attended Western Michigan University where he was a member of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. He remained a loyal Bronco fan all his life attending as many football games and tailgates as he could. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Colorado Springs, CO. He also volunteered for the National Guard. Fred and his best friend, Fred Esslair, started a power transmission business in Grand Rapids called EECO (Esslair Endsley CO). Fred had many other businesses in Grand Rapids over the years including United Parts Distributers, All Parts, Power Sport parts, Remedy Staffing and OEM Bearing Supply. Fred was an avid golfer and longtime member of Cascade Hills Country Club. He was also a 60-year member of Fountain Street Church. He was an elected Trustee of Grand Rapids Township in 1996. Fred enjoyed traveling with his wife Mary Jo and was able to visit several countries. Fred also took his family on many skiing, snowmobiling and camping trips around Michigan. Fred enjoyed reading, deer hunting, sports and especially spending time with his family. He was a humble, kind and loving man with an extraordinary sense of humor. Generous and kind to all, he had many, many friends. Fred was procced in death by his parents Earl and Mildred Endsley and Ruby Kunde. His siblings and their spouses Pete and Bonnie Spasoff, Duane and Irma Endsley and Dick and Jill Reed. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary Jo Endsley (Koerts). His children Todd Endsley, Martha (Ric) Castillo, and Beth Smith. His grandchildren Georgia and Jeanine Endsley, Tyler, Nicole and Austin Castillo and Casey and Steven Smith. Great grandchildren, Ixchel, Omni and JB. At Fred's request, his body has been cremated and internment will take place at a later date at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek, MI with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Fred's name to Spectrum Health Hospice, 25 Michigan St. NE, Suite 4100, Grand Rapids, MI 49503 or Fountain Street Church, 24 Fountain St. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
