Fredric Brown

Late in the evening of September 29, 2022, Fredric Devere Brown of Rockford Michigan was called to his eternal home at the age of 82.  Fred was surround by family and “his Linda”, wife of over 60 years.  He was born in Cadillac, MI on September 15, 1940 to Devere and Margaret (Clune) Brown.

Fred spent his life spreading love to everyone around him.  He always ended his conversations with “give my love to…” whether to family, friends or furry friends. He genuinely cared about people and wanted to make a connection, rarely forgetting a name.  He listened to their stories, successes and struggles.  A great friend that stepped up to help anyone fix a car, update a home and so much more.  He spent years as leader of Scouts, coach of Jr. Pro teams for basketball and baseball.  He was a Deacon of his church Spencer Mill’s Orthodox Presbyterian Church.

He worked for many years as a proud polisher and buffer; first at Auto Plating then to Michigan Wheel and finally at Attwood Corporation where he also served as President of Local 7 of Metal Polishers, Buffers, Platters & Allied Workers International Union. 

Fred was a lover of animals and readily adopted many furry friends from dogs and cats to horses.  Mighty and Sahara enjoyed daily companionship and a beautiful pasture as retired trail horses.  While his puggle, Molly and all the cats were treated like little children.  He adored visits from his grand puppies Amarok, Chessie and Mousse then Izzie, Peekaboo and Mattie.  He always asked about them with a “tell them grandpa loves them”.

He was a very special husband and proud dad, grandfather, great grandfather as well as uncle and friend.  Fred is predeceased by his parents, brother James and sister Katherine.  He is survived by his wife Linda (Conley), daughters Tracey Solomon (Jim), DeAnna (Mark Heiken, predeceased) and sons Steven (Andrea Lisagor), Michael (Nancy Bosch).  Grandchildren Logan, Maggie, Cambell, Hudson, Ben, Annette, Lucas, Steve and Jessica as well as great-grandchildren Liam, Adeline, Avianna and Zoniah.

Celebration of Life services to be held Friday, November 4th at 11:00am at Spencer Mills Orthodox Presbyterian Church located at 12710 – 17 Mile Road, Gowen, Michigan 49326
