Gary P. Barrenger

Gary Paul Barrenger “The Bear” passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026.

He is preceded in death by his mother Hazel Barrenger, father Leon Barrenger, brother Butch Barrenger, and sister Dawn Cole.

Gary leaves behind his wife Theresa Barrenger, and his children Sheri and Bill Willcome, Amy-Sue Barrenger, Bryon Barrenger, Brian Pierce, Jody Pierce, Beth Ann Pierce and John Schultz, along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Gary worked as a factory worker at Metal Craft and the Grand Rapids Press where he retired from. He spent the last 40 years at the place he loved most, his Paradise, our home on the river.  He loved fishing, telling stories of his many adventures, spending time with family and friends, especially his grandkids.

A Celebration of Gary’s life will be held on June 20, 2026 starting at 2pm at The Point.
