George J. Rykse

George J. Rykse, aged 84, of Rockford passed away on November 8, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Neil and Marjorie Rykse; parents in law, Frank and Marge Doran; brothers in law, John Doran, Thomas Doran; sisters in law, Sue Ann Savage, Anne Biondo. Brothers in law, Gordon Arnoys and Joseph Biondo;

George is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Catherine “Kit” Doran Rykse; siblings, Phyllis (Henry) VanderVliet, Marge Arnoys, John (Patricia) Rykse; sister-in-law, Margaret Gregory, his dear Lhasa Apso Sammy and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

He would have told you he was an automotive mechanic by trade. He called himself “The Junk Man” but George could fix anything. He loved cars and owned three antique vehicles. George and Kit loved visiting their cabin “Up North” spending time 4-wheeling and enjoying the outdoors.

There will be a private service for the family to remember George in the future.
