Jack "Vic" Conway

Jack Victor Conway, lovingly known as "Vic," passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024, at the age of 74, after a lengthy illness. Born on April 16, 1950, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Vic grew up in Wyoming, MI, where he formed the foundation of a life defined by love, perseverance, and connection.

Vic shared 54 devoted years with his high school sweetheart and wife, Kathy. Together, they created a home filled with enduring love and treasured memories. He is survived by their two sons: Jack Jr. (Jennifer) of Grand Rapids and Kelly of Los Altos, California; his beloved grandchildren—Ryan, Clay, Luke, Sara, and Kevin—who were the light of his life; and his younger sister Frances (Stan) of Conroe, TX.  He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Alice Conway; his sister Carol and brother-in-law Bill Owen.

A graduate of Lee High School, Vic pursued higher education at Ferris State University before embarking on a dynamic career in sales. His work included many active years with the Home Builders Association of Grand Rapids, where he forged meaningful relationships that lasted a lifetime.

Northern Michigan’s natural beauty held a special place in Vic’s heart. He found peace in its landscapes while golfing or hunting—a passion he carried throughout his life. An avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction with an inquisitive mind for business and economics, Vic also relished spirited sports discussions with his sons—a bond that brought joy to their time together.

To those who knew him well, Vic will be remembered for his warmth, wisdom and humor—a steady presence whose kindness left an indelible mark on all who crossed his path. May the memory of his remarkable journey bring comfort to those who mourn him now and inspire those who loved him always.
