Obituary

James “Buck” Billings age 80 of Kentwood Michigan went home to his Lord and Savior on September 7, 2023.

James is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Edna Billings, his loving wife of over thirty years Laurel Billings, and three of his children Deborah Billings, James Billings and Matthew Billings.

James leaves behind his one son Mike (Kim) Billings, and three step-children David (Paula) Beck, Rob (Monica) Beck, and Lisa Marsh, along with ten grandchildren and many great grandchildren. James also leaves behind his one brother Bob (Ann) Billings along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Buck was a simple man who liked to stay busy. He serviced the city of Grand Rapids for thirty-three years on Grand Rapids Police Force. After retirement he worked many part time times just to stay busy. Buck was a part of the FOP and Lions club for many years. He enjoyed many summer weekends at their summer get away at Sandy Pines.  Buck also enjoyed fishing, and shooting targets and clay pigeons. He was also a die-hard Michigan State Fan and always looked forward to watching all of their sporting events. Buck will truly be missed by his family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday September 14, 2023 form 2pm to 4pm and from 6pm to 8pm at Memorial Alternatives located at 2432 Fuller Ave. NE Grand Rapids Michigan 49505.
