JaneMarie R. Schenk

Born to J.E. and Vivene Wilson of Newaygo, who have preceded her in the journey to eternal life, Jane was their giggly girly-girl who loved to fish with her dad and have fun in Girl Scouts with her mom. Through the years, Jane delighted in a close relationship with her mom and dad and considered them her best friends, especially after she became a parent herself to a son, Jason Rose, and a daughter, Lacie Rose (Karczewski)

The pecking order in the Wilson family placed Jane 4th out of 5 which meant Jane pushed the buttons of the oldest 3, Laurie (Wellman), Natalie (Sherwood), and Jamie Wilson, (the only boy who was surely waiting at the pearly gates to breathe on her and not share his Easter candy yet again). Jane ultimately taught her youngest sister, Betsy Wilson, how to outrun those whose buttons you have pushed. 

In high school, Jane played the clarinet and saxophone and showed exceptional talent in twirling a rifle and performing with the pom-pom team. Jane proudly earned her cosmetologist license and excelled in a second career in customer service. After retiring, Jane devoted her heart and unconditional love to her fur babies, Trucker, Tucker and Copper. Her most precious feline companion, Jazzy, who reciprocated her dedication and loyalty immeasurably, made the last chapter of Jane’s life a testament to how a pet is one of the most beautiful gifts we have. 

A private graveside goodbye at the Newaygo Cemetery will honor Jane’s wishes to forego a formal memorial.
