Jeffery Scott Crosby

On Monday, January 13, 2025, Jeffery Scott Crosby joined his mother, Sandra Crosby and grandfather, Leonard Long in our heavenly home.  Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Ericka (Dreyer) Crosby and his daughter, Kaylee Jean Catheryn Crosby.  He is mourned by parents-in-law, Robert and Mardie Dreyer and many lifelong friends.

Jeff had graduated from Pleasant Hill High School Class of 1986, Pleasant Hill, Missouri.  He joined the Army while finishing up high school.  Upon graduation, he spent 2 years as a Cavalry Scout and was discharged in 1987.  Over the years, Jeff worked various jobs, owning his own Security Alarm company and eventually becoming a private investigator.  It was the investigation job that brought him to Grand Rapids, Michigan in 2002 where he met Ericka.

His love of country was unsurpassed, and very apparent by the tattoos he bore.  Which led him to start Defensive Shooting Skills in 2016.  Over the years he had instructed hundreds of students, some of those folks had become lifelong friends and some he considered brothers.

Jeff had been battling lymphedema and other medical issues for six years.  He fought a good fight. He is now free of pain and suffering.  He is going to be missed dearly by those who are left behind. But, it is a time of bittersweet rejoicing knowing that he has been renewed by Our Father. And we, as his family and friends, know that we will see Jeff again when it is our time to return to our heavenly home.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 1, 2025. at 10:00 a.m.  At Crusaders Martial Arts: 3618 Burlingame Ave SW, Wyoming, Michigan.  All are welcome to attend.
