Jim LeRoy Vincent

Jim “Doc” Vincent, age 71, of Grand Rapids Township, passed away peacefully at home on June 2, 2020.  He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Grace Vincent, of Ada.  Doc was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, and friend.  He lived each day with humor, generosity, and a kind heart.   Doc will be lovingly missed by his wife of 50 years, Barbara; his sons: Charlie (Heather) & Michael (Evie); and beloved grandchildren: Allison, Madi & David.  Doc took his role of Grandpa very seriously and was very good at it.  He delighted in his grandkids’ academics, sports, and shenanigans and they delighted in his (shenanigans).   Doc proudly served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, worked as a mechanic for Amway for 38 years, and was a member of the Creston Post, the Eagles, and the St. Alphonsus Cara Club.   The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Glisson, and Danielle, Doc’s infusion nurse, for their care and compassion through the years.  A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 8 at 11:00 am at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior and a luncheon to follow.  Interment at Ft. Custer National Cemetery will take place at a later date.
