Our family is celebrating the life of Joan K. Crago, 79, of Grand Rapids MI who passed away on April 22, 2021. Joan was an encourager with a gentle soul and an unwavering devotion to her family. She grew up as the daughter of Thomas and Genevieve Kramer of Muskegon MI and graduated from Muskegon Christian High School in 1959.
Joan lived a generous and meaningful life. After graduation, she became a homemaker who delighted in raising her three children. Joan also found joy outside of her home through interior decorating and helping her friends and clients at Standale Interior bring more beauty into their homes. Joan relaxed by tending her flower garden, oil painting, and losing herself in a romance or mystery novel.
Joan is being celebrated by her three children, Brian (Tanya) Hommes, Debra (Bradley) Warren, John Hommes, and her stepson Bryan Crago. She delighted in spending time with her 8 grandchildren who broadened her smile; Isabella and Carson Hommes, Sophia and Oliver Warren, and Faith, Luke, Audrey and Jake Hommes. She will always and lovingly be remembered as Grandma Joanie.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband Ron Crago, and she is survived by her brother Richard (Lucy) Kramer.
A Visitation to share memories of Joan’s life will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm at Memorial Alternatives, 2432 Fuller Avenue NE, Grand Rapids, MI. We appreciate you keeping her loving spirit alive through your daily kindness to others.
